Jorian Baucom grew up playing a multitude of sports, but she enjoyed soccer the most—and it stuck. The sport’s culture and competition motivated her to continue down the pathway to becoming a professional player. And it’s a good thing. Jorian has enjoyed an incredible soccer journey that led her to becoming a member of the Calgary Wild FC for its inaugural season in the Northern Super League.

Jorian is no stranger to playing for newly created clubs. She came to the Wild FC from DC Power FC, based in Washington, D.C., where she was the first player signing in 2024 in the newly formed USL Super League. Her name is also in the history books as the first scorer in DC Power FC history.

After a college career playing at Louisiana State University (2014–2017) and University of Colorado Boulder (2017–2018), where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Strategic Communication, Jorian has had a strong professional career while playing for the Houston Dash (NWSL) before signing with AC Sparta Prague (Czech Women’s First League), and MSV Duisburg. She also suited up for short stints at the NWSL’s Racing Louisville, the North Carolina Courage, and then she headed to Portugal to play for SF Damaiense. Jorian notched 27 goals across the 2023–24 season while playing for Hibernian in Scotland before her most recent stop back in the United States with Fort Lauderdale United FC.

Jorian was attracted to the culture and community that has been created in Calgary. She prides herself on her community commitments, which has included working with St. Mary’s Food Bank in Phoenix and special-needs patients, wrapping Christmas presents for U.S. Troops overseas, and volunteering for Kids for Hope in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Did You Know

Jorian’s role models are her parents, who she says are her backbone with their selfless support of her soccer career while she has played with a variety of teams around the world. Her favourite soccer memory was scoring against Bayern Munich in the International Women’s Cup, which helped secure the winning title. Jorian loves playing video games on her PS5, streaming herself on TikTok, and doing puzzles and art.
